Meet the girls

Mak and Jill have been friends since seventh grade. They both were lucky to have creative mamas who encouraged their artistic sides.

They have 45 years experience between the two of them upcycling furniture, creating works of art, styling and interior design. They have a beautiful store "The Abode" - located on Avenida Del Mar in downtown San Clemente, where you can find their upcycled furniture, unique finds, and so much more.

They are stockists of Chalk Paint® decorative paint and offer furniture painting workshops, teaching others what they have learned over a lifetime.

"The Mermaid"

We are off to " La Casa Verde de Granada" in San Clemente, for the day! I need to get her back to the sea....

Come by and say Hi, she LOVES attention.

I know this because, she is always wearing these sparkly outfits.

August Rosebowl Highlights

There is always too much to get done before Rosebowl! It is a big, giant, exhausting push.

My most favorite piece by far this time is this bed. Isn't it too cute!

Turquoise was the color of the show for me, all shades. I did lots of mixing colors.  I replaced the tired wrought iron "leaves and acorn" motif with these beachy, beadboard slats and painted them up in my custom colors. Mixing is one of my favorite things to do.

Look at that amazing Anthropologie knob on there!

There was a bit of a war over this coffee table, so I will be doing another this week for Tara in Studio City.

These vintage lightbulbs were quite the find. Yes they all work!

So I had some Non Turquoise items for the neutral fans out there.

One coat of paint. You have to love Annie Sloan Paint! Although it is a bit addicting, so watch out, if you try it. You will be hooked.

Can you find the turquoise?

The customers favorite by far are the girls! *NOT FOR SALE* I think they will get there own tags next month so I don't have to keep answering that question.

It was a good show. I hope to see you next month.......MaK

A little Inspiration is in order, for me to get things in Order.....

I am spending the day getting my workshop and storage organized. It is quite an extensive job because we have been on such a whirlwind of flea markets, opening up in two stores and becoming stockists for Annie Sloan's paint. I have collected quite a few treasures that need some love and attention. While going through all my treasures,  I have this inspiration piece in mind.

I would love to give credit to the artist, but I don't remember where I found it online.  Maybe one of my finds will tell me they want to look this cute too.
