Meet the girls

Mak and Jill have been friends since seventh grade. They both were lucky to have creative mamas who encouraged their artistic sides.

They have 45 years experience between the two of them upcycling furniture, creating works of art, styling and interior design. They have a beautiful store "The Abode" - located on Avenida Del Mar in downtown San Clemente, where you can find their upcycled furniture, unique finds, and so much more.

They are stockists of Chalk Paint® decorative paint and offer furniture painting workshops, teaching others what they have learned over a lifetime.

Michelle Pfeiffer has moved to Beverly Hills

The beautiful Duncan Phyfe, aka Michelle Pfeiffer, was taken home yesterday by the fabulous interior designer Jamie Loop.  It was love at first sight for Jamie. Look at the smile on her face!  She is going to send pics when she gets it all set up in her new home in Beverly Hills.  We will miss you Michelle - but know you will be very well cared for by Jamie. :) Check out Jamie's blog http://jlid.blogspot.com/

Antibes Green Garden Bench

I found these cute old chairs at a garage sale for next to nothing. The seats were missing out of them and I was going to replace them and upholster them, but they spoke to me and and wanted to be something new and different. With a little bit of new wood and some creative mistakes these sad old chairs have a new life. The bench has be painted and distressed. I sealed it with a polyurethane and it is now ready for a new home in the garden. If you love it, contact me at mak@makandjill.com

Michelle Pfeiffer

This aged Duncan Phyfe buffet has had a facelift with Anne Sloan's Chalk Paint. We nick named her Michelle Pfeiffer because Jill couldn't remember Duncan Phyfe and she is quite beautiful now. Don't you think?
